I guess every country has its own traditions concerning Easter, but quite a few many cultures in Europe believe in an Easter Bunny, which brings children small treats and presents on Easter Saturday or Sunday. And in Poland we believe that in order to get the Bunny to be generous, we need to leave for him a special nest on a window sill, filled with grass or hay, where he'll be comfortable leaving the presents (and probably taking a short break ;-). And that's also one of the reasons why a nest has become a popular theme in Easter decorations - here are my 3 ideas for it, which you can use as inspiration:
And I'm back :-) And I have quite a few days of not-blogging to make up to you... I'm starting today, with one last post about Easter :-)

And a third idea in the series of egg-tray Easter decoration, a cute, simple piece of Spring for your table :-)
I really like the idea of turning drab-looking egg-trays into Easter decorations with high prettiness and cuteness factors ;-) So of course once I started to experiment, i couldn't stop at one... So here's another version:
Not much time left till Easter, so if you still haven't come up with an idea for a table decoration, I suggest one of these two, which I've come up with last week. A goose egg filled with water, wrapped with bits of wool (you can skip that part), with some flowers put inside (you can even use bits of potted flowers you've already got at home) and put in a glass, candle holder or other small pretty container, so that it stays upright. And that's it - 5 min and you're done :-)
First, I'd like to say that yesterday was my name-day, and I'd like to thank everyone who remembered :-)
Second, tomorrow I'm going away for over a week, so I might not be able to blog too often in the upcoming days - but I promise to make up for it later! And third, here is the portion of Easter cuteness I've promised you in the title of this post - my interpretation of the idea of using egg-trays for Easter decorations :-) Easy and quite fast to make, and you don't need to be a florist to make a similar arrangement. The basic idea is to put a few flowers into egg-shells filled with water, arrange them in an egg-tray and add a fluffy chicken or a bunny for good measure ;-) So if you're not that good with manual crafts and don't have much time to spare, this piece of Easter deco is ideal for you. Good luck! Today is a pretty special day for me since it's my second wedding anniversary :-)
Some of you may think that being married for 2 years is not exactly a great achievement, but let me assure you, in my case it is. The only thing I'm not so sure about is what's a bigger achievement - the fact that I actually did get married and stayed that way for 2 years now, or that my husband is still married to me. I think the latter one - and that's probably because he's a very patient, understending, supportive and exceptional man - with the emphasis on patient ;-) But enough of this personal stuff! Let's talk about flowers today, especially that an anniversary always means (or at least should mean) that women get flowers :-) And once we get them, we need to put them into a vase, and that's where we can also get creative. Since floristry has become so pupular in the last decade or so, so have the flower vases become a popular object of interior design. Today we can get them in an amazing range of shapes, sizes, materials etc. And this time I've come across a website which offers some really intriguing designs - mostly modern, with emphasis on clean lines, but I find each of them pretty intriguing, even though I wouldn't put some of them on my table ;-) I think I like the first 3 best. And which one is your favourite? They all come from this website: www.yliving.com Another portion of cute Easter decorations, this time from www.potterybarn.com. Amazing how many things you can do with eggs, chicken and bunnies! Plus, while I cannot stand eating eggs, I have nothing against them in their decorative form ;-) So if your home still isn't ready to celebrate Easter, it's probably hight time to start! Although I'm probably not the best example myself, since it was only two weeks ago that I "de-assembled" one of our Christmas trees... ;-) Today I have for you another one of my floristic experiments, a square-shaped, ultra-cute and cheerful nest from hay, full of Spring flowers. Since it's got potted plants inside, I'm counting on it surviving for quite a while (unless I forget to water it...). It's made from a box wrapped in a layer of hay and a copper net on the outside, and unless you're allergic to hay, it's a perfect Spring/Easter accent for your home ;-)
I’ve been away for the last few days since I went to a florist show which was being held at the other end of the country, but I’m back now! The show was amazing and I‘ve brought back quite a few photos, and I’ll certainly publish them once I have some time to work on them a bit. In the meantime, it seems that Spring has indeed finally arrived, with all it’s sunny warmth and green shoots appearing everywhere :-) And Easter is really just around the corner now, so today I have for you a collection of Easter knick-knacks which can serve as both – decoration for your home, and small gifts. I’ve recently discovered a chain of shops with home deco articles, which is very affordable and carries some very cute seasonal items – Home&You. Right now, you’ll find there 3 different lines of Easter decorations, called violet meadow, traditional table and Eco-Easter. I’ve chosen my favourite items to show you here, and you can find more on this website. Enjoy! |
